Crop Mastery Explained in FarmVille

For all its importance, crop mastery is not an easy concept to grasp in Farmville. Basically, Crop Mastery is the concept that you can aspire to advance to different levels by planting the same crop repeatedly. There are three levels of crop mastery for each type of seed that you can plant in Farmville and each level is obtained by completing a certain number of successful harvests. Once you have reached level 10 in the game you will have access to Crop Mastery.



Getting crop mastery rewards is like getting ribbons. As an incentive for advancing a level you will receive coins and XP each time you do so. To get a premium crop, you have to get level 3 mastery in that crop and then every time you plant the crop, there's a chance it will be a premium crop. Premium Crops are those that look a little bigger than normal and gives XP when you harvest. Each seed is going to give different XP and have a different chance of turning into a premium crop.



Reaching level 3 in Crop Mastery entitles you to a mastery sign for a particular crop - a sign that you can place anywhere on your farm. What better way to show off your mastery of a particular crop to your neighbors than a sign?



What crops are the best to work on? For Farmville, it all really just depends on if you're playing casually or hardcore and what your trying to accomplish. In order to become a successful Farmville player, you should develop crop mastery skills. Focus on a small number of crops that you can harvest over a long period of time. You can line up your mastery with high-yielding coin and XP berry crops like blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. While blackberries are an amazing crop to master later in the game, you need to harvest it many times to get level 3 mastery. Pumpkins and Tomatoes, two already high-performing crops for XP gain, are great choices for mastery early on.



No matter what your choice is, you will get a lot more enjoyment out of your Farmville game by utilizing crop mastery. Extensive patience and copious planting is the key to becoming a master of many crops.
